Dear Sir,
I have received your favors of the 5th
and 16th and am happy to learn that your friendly endeavors
have at last obtained the payment for Gen. Cleveland's bond, and for which I
feel myself much obliged to you - we have been ready to go since the 20th of
June, the time you appointed - only waited to hear from you first - it will not
be in my power to wait upon you immediately - as I am sent for from Buffaloe as
I suspect on that business - but Mr. Norton is going in a few days - and some
time after I hope I shall have the pleasure of seeing you myself when I shall
say something more _
Dear Sir
I am
With respect
